SOLD - Antique Victorian Shoe Display Pedestal with Carved Anatomical Leg and Foot Motif Base
Magnificent and rare pedestal from the Victorian era, a shoe display for a cobbler or shoe store but works as a petite pedestal or plant stand. Features magnificent carved base with four intersecting human legs with feet wearing shoes, with the legs bent at a right angle to support the stand. A wonderful anatomical touch, skillfully carved for a bit of eye popping whimsy. Made of mixed woods, looks like oak for parts of the post, and either walnut or mahogany for the feet and top. Measures 32.25in tall x 15.5in wide x 8.5in deep. Excellent vintage condition, one foot has the toe chipped off, underside and edge of beveled top is chipped in small spots as pictured.
