SOLD - Tall Vintage Boxer Pugilist Figural Styrofoam Sculpture John L. Sullivan
Unique sculpture of a turn of the 20th century pugilist or boxer. Strongly resembles the Pabst Blue Ribbon boxer of yore, features a lean and strong shirtless man with big handlebar mustache, red striped pants, boots, and a belt. Appears to be a striking likeness of legendary bare knuckle boxer John L. Sullivan. Within the belt buckle, you can make out a few embossed words, with what appears to say “James J. Corbert” and “Antique”. The cracks on top are part of the production to give the piece a more antique look, but there are metal reinforcements within the legs to give it nice weight and balance. Measures overall 37in tall x 17in wide x 5in deep. Excellent vintage condition, some light spots of wear around feet, his left fist, and a few other scuffs in other spots, seems to be missing a cigar or something based on the small hole on the side of his mouth.
Calculated UPS Ground shipping and local pick up from our Glenview IL showroom available.
