SOLD - Vintage Black Painting Over-Painted Portrait with Face Revealed
Unique and unusual vintage oil painting, an over-painting wherein someone painted over what looked to be a portrait and additional scene, leaving only the face of one person on the left. Painting on canvas, unsigned and unframed. A variety of swirling blacks and dark browns, you can see the brushstrokes and textures of a figure painted underneath the coat of black. Some spots look to have flaked off paint that has been touched up again, blending in with the entire black over-painted style. Measures 30in tall x 28in wide. Excellent vintage condition, a few aforementioned touched up missing spots of paint as pictured.
