SOLD - Vintage Butterfly Leather Sling Loveseat by Gerard Van Den Berg for Montis
Super comfortable leather loveseat by Montis, as designed by Gerard Van Den Berg. This is the iconic Butterfly design, with a large leather cushion draped over a metal frame with a sling supporting the cushion. Has original tag on side. Originally acquired this loveseat with no sling around the frame, and the upholsterer did a somewhat crude but ultimately effective job, using durable sunbrella fabric to allow the piece to have a durable and comfortable sling. One thing to note is that when you do sit in the loveseat, it does tend to bunch up and the outside edges of the frame and sling are visible, which you can see in the very last photo I added. Measures overall 61in long x 33in deep x 29in tall, with approximately 17in seat height. Good vintage condition, leather cushion is broken and worn, with a couple minor poke holes and a repaired tear as pictured. The overall cushion has lots of fading and wear as you can see, but the leather is nice quality and should last you many more years. The frame has some nicks and scratches, middle two feet missing original caps so I added small pads underneath to keep it level.
